Walking prayer is an ancient spiritual practice. During this retreat you will have the opportunity to try different forms of walking prayer, with time to reflect personally and share with others about your experience.

Summer is a wonderful time of year to be outside enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. It is also a time of year when many of us love to walk amidst meadows and hedgerows, up hills and along glens.

This relaxed retreat will give us the opportunity to prayerfully wander and explore the Bield estate as well as, on one day, venturing a little further.

You will need to be comfortable walking 3-5 miles at a gentle pace, sometimes on uneven ground.

A time to enjoy God’s beautiful creation and the company of others!

What to bring

Please bring comfortable walking shoes or boots, a rain coat and, if you have them, waterproof trousers. Walking poles may be helpful. We will be hoping for dazzling sunshine but, being Scotland, we may get summer rain! While we will adapt our programme depending on the weather, we may be outside in rain.

You will need a journal and pen.
