Good Friday Retreat with the Suffering Christ Icon

2nd April 2021

12:00 noon to 3:00 pm via zoom

“Then Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last.”

Join us on Good Friday for an online retreat, when we recall the crucifixion of Jesus.

Please book by 26th March 2021.  The retreat will be delivered via zoom.  Joining instructions will be sent to those who have registered, a few days before Good Friday.

We invite you to pause, feel and notice what arises within you as you journey once more to the foot of the cross. The retreat has been crafted around praying with The Suffering Christ icon. As well as

time with the icon, there will be an opportunity for creative expression in response to the icon - perhaps through journaling, artwork, poetry or a symbolic object. There will also be space, if you

choose, for sharing your reflections with the group.

Time in front of the screen and time away will hopefully create a sense of spaciousness. Given the

contemplative nature of this retreat, we encourage you to try to find a quiet place in which you can still, free of distractions.

We will begin with a Good Friday liturgy of words and music, including the Passion narrative, and will close with prayer.

Resources Needed

For the creative expression you might like to have to hand a journal, pen, paper, colouring pencils, crayons or paints.
