Wellness Day for NHS Staff

During the current pandemic many staff have been experiencing unprecedented pressures and demands that are affecting their energy or wellbeing.
Many have been feeling a greater sense of anxiety, fear, anger or loss. Many are feeling depleted and in need of some TLC.
Why not join others and come and spend a day at the beautiful Bield, and slow down, relax, unwind?
What to expect
During the day you will be able to choose from various options, some offered individually, others in very small groups with physical distancing, depending on COVID restrictions on the day.
Gentle body work and mindfulness practices —tai -chi, breathwork, finger holds for managing emotions, tapping, head holds etc. Very relaxing!
Art room—suggestions available for how to use art reflectively or space to do your own thing.
Walking the labyrinth —with an option to symbolically lay down some of the strong emotions you may have been carrying.
Massage – needs to be pre -booked, extra charge paid to massage therapist.
Individual time to be listened to with a member of the Bield team or a NHS chaplain.
Space to wander the wonderful grounds, sit quietly, chat with others.

Mark Evans, NHS Spiritual Care
Valerie offers spiritual and retreat accompaniment, listening, pastoral supervision and group facilitation, including HerSpace. Her training embraced a variety of spiritual traditions and approaches, including Ignatian and Reformed. She is particularly interested in feminist spiritualities. Valerie draws upon a variety of creative media and Capacitar wellness practices, encouraging integration of body, mind and spirit. Journaling, photography and music are other interests. She is a member of the Iona Community.
