We are looking to employ an

Apprentice Gardener / Grounds-person
Gardener Apprentice Overview:
As apprentice gardener you will work alongside the Estates Manager and other members of the estates team ensuring that the grounds of Blackruthven Estate are maintained to the highest standard. You will learn about the history of the gardens. You will be part of preparing the gardens and wider estate for the enjoyment of our guests. You will assist in the maintenance of all herbaceous borders, propagation, amenity lawns, tree care and other horticultural tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain hands-on gardening experience whilst working towards your qualification.

Apprenticeship Details:
Attending Elmwood College on a program of Block release over two years the successful candidate will work towards achieving a SCQF Level 5 in amenity Horticulture.

Working alongside our Head Gardener and Head Groundsman the candidate will work up to 40 hours per week covering all aspects of Garden and Ground Maintenance. You will attend college for 3 blocks of two weeks per year.

Blackruthven Estate is a large estate with beautiful extensive grounds and organic farmland. Within the grounds is the beating heart of the Estate, The Bield at Blackruthven, a Retreat & Conference Centre.
