Creative Day using Music, Art and Poetry
13th October 2026
9:30 - 16:30
£75.00
In a busy world, charity and love can be easily missed as we rush through our lives. God
may at times seem distant and far off within the demands of the day. This creative day is
aimed at stilling ourselves, giving %me to allow our being to recognise what is in and
around us.
Song
We will start the day by singing some easy chants. Through simple structures and harmonies, our singing will also allow some freedom to let go and feel the beauty of the musical vibrations flowing in us and through us.
Creativeness
Reflecting on the power of words and using our theme of Ubi Caritas, we will create visual words that speak to us. This can be done on your own or with others. We will use the art space and outdoor spaces, weather permitting.
Poetry
The afternoon session will draw together our first two sessions and we will focus on creating some poetry. You can choose to do this with others or independently. There will be some explanations of poetry structure that will ensure that everyone has a creation they can take away and reflect on.
Facilitator:
Catherine Black

Catherine has been teaching music for 29 years and heads a successful Faculty of Music and Drama in a local secondary school. She also runs her local community choir and writes poetry. She has published both a Lent study and an Advent Study using her poetry and reflections. Catherine encourages those around her to create expressively while making room for experiencing deep powerful connections.
